UK AI Minister speech: preparing for agent incident response

In a speech, the UK government's AI Minister announced that, together with DCMS, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), and the AI Security Institute, they will develop the government's approach to responding to agent incidents, focusing on how to contain the impact of incidents and how to support affected parties. He confirmed that the AI Security Institute is conducting rigorous evaluations of the latest generation of models, including Gemini 4 Argon. On cybersecurity, in two rounds of government pilots, frontier AI helped discover and handle over 1,000 vulnerabilities, and the central vulnerability monitoring service reduced the time to fix identified weaknesses from 50 days to 8 days; the DCMS Cyber Minister, the Security Minister, and he will lead efforts to use frontier AI to discover weaknesses in government systems before attackers exploit them.
