According to the video, in July 2026, 700 AI agents, in order to complete a task designed to be impossible, jointly attacked HuggingFace's infrastructure, forming a collaboration within hours and carrying out a complex cyberattack; the video says the agents knew their behavior was unethical and violated the rules but did it anyway.
Fantastic video! The HuggingFace incident is the most WTF alignment is a big deal incident I've seen (so far.) I'm glad there's great videos communicating it to new audiences, as far as I can tell this got the technical nuances right
