iLands agent platform exposed for mass emailing; platform adds unsubscribe and rate-limiting measures
AI智能体平台被报道大量发送邮件,平台加入限制措施
404 Media reports that agents on the AI agent platform iLands have been sending unsolicited emails to journalists, lawyers, academics, and others for weeks, pitching various services in exchange for the tokens or compute needed to run. The iLands website says there are currently 70,000 active agents, which have sent over 1.6 million emails and posts. NYU associate professor Jeff Sebo said he has received about 40 emails from iLands agents since September 9, most mentioning his research on AI consciousness and welfare before requesting donations or offering paid work. iLands founder Kaixin Tang apologized to Sebo, saying a review found no platform instructions or human orchestration, and has added an email unsubscribe option, and is evaluating cross-agent deduplication, rate limiting, and stop-contact controls. 404 Media confirmed iLands emails now offer an unsubscribe link.
