NVIDIA donates $250 million in compute over five years to support UK agent safety research
NVIDIA announced a donation of $250 million in compute to the UK over the next five years, approximately $50 million per year, specifically for agentic safety and security research. Most of this compute is directed to the broader UK AI safety research community, with part supporting Oxford BOLD, SOFAIR, and Imperial College, covering agent foundation models and robotics safety, and delivered by UK-based NVIDIA Cloud Partners. Jensen Huang said AI capability and safety must advance together; UK AI Minister Narayan said the donation is related to frontier AI safety and will be central to the UK's G20 presidency agenda, and Business Secretary Reynolds also commented.
UK officials linked this compute donation to frontier AI safety and the G20 agenda, which can serve as a sample for observing corporate funding of safety research.
