OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, xAI, and Nvidia met with Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and senior administration officials at the White House, signing a voluntary "Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities" pledging to strengthen internal controls as well as external monitoring and governance. The same week, Trump signed the "Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence" executive order, requiring the federal government to adopt the term "super intelligence" and establishing a "Super Intelligence Task Force" led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, which is to submit a report within 120 days. The FTC has launched a broad investigation into OpenAI, Anthropic, and other AI companies, focusing on unfair and deceptive practices and the risks of "out-of-control" AI agents.
