Meta released Muse Spark Open, calling it the most capable US open-weights model to date

Meta released the open-weights model Muse Spark Open, with 816B total parameters (42B active), a 1M-token context window, and Meta calls it the most capable US open-weights model to date. The model is natively multimodal and aimed at coding and agent tasks; Meta says it is the first of its kind to run on desktop via the MLX framework on two Apple M5 Ultra Mac Studio machines. Meta says it evaluated the model under the Meta Superintelligence Scaling Framework and that it met the framework's release threshold; detailed results are in the Muse Spark Open model card.
