Aether AI releases CRIS-0: Causal intelligence lets robots emergency-stop in 0.2 seconds and replan in 2 seconds

Aether AI, founded by Biwei Huang, assistant professor at the University of California, San Diego, released the causal-native agent system CRIS-0, enabling a robotic arm to reason in real time based on physical causal variables rather than relying on statistical correlations. In a coffee-making disturbance test, CRIS-0 identified causal variable changes and replanned within 2 seconds on average, achieving 9 effective recoveries out of 10 random perturbations; in a test of 20 ambiguous instructions with implicit reasoning, it completed 18 precise grasp-and-place actions, and could safely emergency-stop in 0.2 seconds when a human hand suddenly intervened. Its causal world model CausalWM previously topped the Leaderboard on TriWorldBench.
