Zurich knife attack on children: defendant used ChatGPT to plan and bought beef to practice stabbing

The defendant in the knife attack on three five-year-old boys in Oerlikon, Zurich, used ChatGPT to inquire about the legal consequences of stabbing random victims to death, and based on that decided to attack children. Prosecutors say he acted on October 1, 2024, having previously ordered four kitchen knives of different sizes, studied anatomy diagrams of the head, neck, and blood vessels, and bought raw beef on September 30 to practice stabbing and cutting. The trial opened on Thursday, with prosecutors seeking a 15-year prison sentence and an equal period of deportation.
