Google DeepMind expands collaboration with UK AI Security Institute, signs new MoU

Google DeepMind announced a new MoU with the UK AI Security Institute (AISI), expanding collaboration from model testing to foundational safety research. The collaboration includes sharing proprietary models, data and ideas, publishing joint reports, with research focusing on chain-of-thought (CoT) monitoring, the ethical implications of socio-emotional misalignment, and assessing AI's impact on economic systems. The two parties have been testing models together since AISI's founding in November 2023, including Gemini 3.
