FAR.AI meeting explores technological innovation for AI policy

FAR.AI held a meeting in Washington, bringing together more than 150 experts to discuss the technical foundations of AI governance, covering energy demand, competition with China, safety evaluation, and formal verifiable commitments. The meeting proposed advancing effective governance through auditing as a comprehensive ecosystem, and recommended a multi-layered defense system to address loss-of-control risks—where trusted AI monitors untrusted AI through red-team evaluation—while warning that this is only a stopgap measure.
