Argentine 15-year-old used ChatGPT to plan a 2027 school shooting, searched after FBI warning

A 15-year-old in Argentina planned a shooting at his school in 2027 and killing classmates in a conversation with ChatGPT, and was stopped after an FBI warning. The FBI legal attaché at the embassy in Argentina linked the email user information from the conversation with the AI and reported it; the Argentine Federal Police counter-terrorism investigation unit launched an investigation on August 19, identifying the minor's identity and his address in Quilmes through social media. After prosecutors requested a search warrant, police seized items at his residence including two mobile phones, two pairs of tactical gloves, a camouflage military cap, a skull-patterned balaclava, a camouflage mask, and black tactical goggles. The minor's parents were summoned to the prosecutor's office for criminal responsibility of minors. The minor's identity is strictly confidential for legal reasons, and the seized items were handed over to judicial authorities for examination.
