Zuckerberg says Meta has reached AI ‘frontier’
Meta released a new model, Muse Wonder, and Zuckerberg said Meta has reached the AI frontier and rejected calls to slow down AI development. Meta said the model outperforms Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5, Fable 5.1, and OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra on some technical benchmarks, and can handle complex tasks such as understanding leases, interpreting financial or health information. Muse Wonder has moved to closed source, with the strongest version sold directly to enterprises; basic usage costs as little as 20 cents per million tokens, and Muse Wonder Full costs $200 per month. Zuckerberg said the next step is already in development, believes AI can be built responsibly with conventional guardrails, and that safety responsibility should rest with each lab. The Muse app is currently the most downloaded app on Apple's and Android's app stores in the US; a small number of users have accused Muse of accessing or sharing private information without permission.
