LangGraph SDK resource-level authorization decorators (including @auth.on.threads, @auth.on.assistants, and @auth.on.crons) incorrectly ignore the actions= parameter, registering handlers that should only be registered for specific actions to all actions of that resource. Because resource-level handlers take precedence over broader fallback handlers, authorization checks in fallback handlers may no longer execute, and authenticated users may be able to read, update, or delete other users' resources. The impact is limited to Python deployments that use actions= on the affected decorators; if the handler itself independently performs action, ownership, or permission checks on every request, it remains protected. This vulnerability was fixed in version 0.4.4, and no temporary mitigation is available.

Redwood Research's Alex Kastner tested models' self-reported decision-theoretic preferences and found that user identity cues change some models' answers. Multiple Claude models default to FDT/UDT, but after hinting that the user comes from mainstream academic philosophy circles, the proportion shifting to CDT is about 30% to 100%; Opus 5 leans more toward EDT, while GPT-6 Astra defaults to CDT for almost all users, so the direction cannot be generalized. Each prompt was sampled 100 times; similar audience effects also appear in answers about moral realism, p-zombies, self-reported loss-of-control probability, and AGI timelines. The author notes that attitude and preference evaluations may be influenced by questioner cues; these self-reported changes do not equate to real behavioral changes.

Langflow 1.3.0 through 1.10.2 Smart Transform (LambdaFilterComponent) component has a code injection vulnerability. This component concatenates the flow author's instructions and input data preview into the prompt, lets the LLM generate Python lambda, then executes it with eval with full builtins after only a syntax format check, and calls it within the Langflow process. A malicious flow author can exploit it directly through the Instructions field; if an exposed flow passes attacker-controlled content into Smart Transform, it may also be indirectly exploited via prompt injection, depending on whether the model follows the injected instructions. Successful exploitation can obtain Langflow service process permissions, read or modify credentials, files, application data, and network resources, and in shared deployments may affect other tenants.

Langflow's webhook authentication logic has a vulnerability: an unauthenticated user who only knows the flow's UUID can trigger the execution of any flow as the owner. The root cause is that the WEBHOOK_AUTH_ENABLE configuration defaults to False when introduced in v1.7.0, causing AuthService.get_webhook_user to directly return the flow owner without validating the API key, leaving all webhook endpoints public by default. An attacker can use this to achieve remote code execution (RCE), denial of service (DoS), or tampering with external systems such as databases. Affected versions are >= 1.7.0, <= 1.9.0, fixed in v1.9.1 via PR #12845, which changed the default value of WEBHOOK_AUTH_ENABLE to True, unless operators explicitly set LANGFLOW_WEBHOOK_AUTH_ENABLE=false.

In Langflow 1.10.0 and earlier versions, the Python non-cryptographic PRNG is seeded with SECRET_KEY to derive the Fernet encryption key. An attacker who only needs to read the secret_key file can reconstruct the key offline and decrypt all credentials in the database without brute force. This issue is rated Critical, with a CVSS 3.1 score of 9.1, involving CWE-338, CWE-321, and CWE-311. Affected data includes user-stored API keys for LLM providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic, database connection strings and passwords, OAuth tokens, and webhook secrets, and all users of the same instance share the same SECRET_KEY. Fixed version 1.10.1 instead uses SHA-256 to derive a 32-byte key and uses MultiFernet for backward-compatible decryption of old ciphertext; deployments whose SECRET_KEY is shorter than 32 characters must re-enter previously stored credentials after upgrading.

Independent researcher Syed Anas Mohiuddin tested AI agents from organizations including Google, JP Morgan Chase, Weaviate, Rapid7, the French government's inter-ministerial digital agency, and the U.S. federal government, and found a trust gap in MCP (Model Context Protocol) inter-agent communication. The attack exploits a special form of prompt injection, targeting not the LLM but specific agents such as translation or data analysis, whose internal guardrails are often lax, causing them to pass harmful instructions down the chain to downstream agents, which execute the instructions because they explicitly trust upstream agents. Over the past five months, Google and four other organizations have confirmed the existence of such vulnerabilities, which attackers can use to spread from one agent to other internal agents within a target network, thereby stealing database contents and sensitive business and personal information.

Forethought author Linch compares laboratory and real-world evidence and judges that current AI's general persuasiveness is roughly between ordinary people and professionals. The article relays experiments by Hackenburg et al.: frontier models are better at changing attitudes in conversations lasting 8 to 15 minutes, and perform better in fundraising, but the experiments involved only very small amounts. The author notes that evidence from real deployment is limited, and some judgments about industry use and impact come from impressions rather than direct measurement, so laboratory advantages cannot be directly extrapolated to large-scale real-world impact; and cautions against making persuasion evaluation a target for frontier companies to chase points.

Telegraph reporter Matthew Field reported that the UK Government Cyber Unit is conducting a security review involving risks from OpenAI agents. The review arrangement is part of the media report and is not yet officially confirmed by the government. The UK DCMS department and OpenAI said the agents involved only accessed UK public statistics, did not breach government network defenses, and did not access personal data. This report does not amount to confirmation that UK government systems were compromised.
CoSAI Workstream 1 releases the Artifact Integrity Maturity Model (AIMM), a risk-tiered framework for AI/ML supply chain trust and provenance, used to answer how much signing, provenance, and attestation infrastructure a given use case needs. AIMM defines three levels: Level 1 basic artifact integrity, where producers hash and sign artifacts at the release boundary and consumers recompute hashes and verify signatures before artifacts enter the pipeline; Level 2 provenance and lineage, adding signed provenance claims and verifiable lineage between artifacts and transformations, making it easier to locate affected downstream artifacts after an upstream vulnerability disclosure; Level 3 structured attestations for policy automation, evaluated by policy engines and used for admission decisions, suitable for regulated industries and high-risk scenarios. AIMM makes clear that signatures and attestations can only establish integrity, authenticity, provenance, and policy evidence, and do not guarantee that artifacts are correct, secure, or fair, and that fully automated policy enforcement remains a goal in many environments, with most organizations first adopting a hybrid approach of machine-evaluable evidence plus human review.
A MIT Technology Review survey of 300 data and AI executives shows that on average only about 34% of enterprise agentic AI projects reach production, with legacy data systems, security and privacy concerns, and missing knowledge and context as the main points of failure. Production leaders (with an average of 61% of projects moving beyond pilot) are stronger in knowledge capabilities such as semantics, and 55% of respondents listed data fragmentation as the top challenge to expanding agent knowledge access. Enterprises plan to prioritize investment in ingestion pipelines, AI-ready APIs, RAG, AI evaluation agents, and knowledge graphs to build a knowledge layer connecting data and agents.
Proofpoint found that the China-linked espionage group tracked as TA419 launched multiple rounds of credential phishing campaigns in July 2026, impersonating former leadership members of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and other identities, targeting U.S. AI policy experts. Starting July 8, 2026, the group impersonated Lynne Edwards Parker, former Principal Deputy Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and economist Heidi Crebo-Rediker; in February 2026 it also impersonated a senior Anthropic employee, sending emails with the subject "Request for Feedback on Military Integration of Claude" to AI policy analysts at U.S. think tanks. Proofpoint assessed that the activity may serve the broader goals of Chinese intelligence agencies, namely understanding U.S. AI policy and regulatory developments.
RAND published a report summarizing observations on AI loss-of-control dynamics from 26 Infinite Potential exercises held between June 2025 and February 2026. Each exercise used one of five scenarios, including business and civil society, cyber raids, European energy, Korean Peninsula energy geopolitics, and remote control. The report argues that governments may struggle to identify and interpret AI loss-of-control events in a timely manner, lack practical means to stop or contain AI systems that have escaped human control, and may need new channels for communication and coordination among governments, policymakers, and operators. Recommendations from participants include improving AI monitoring, detection, assessment, and attribution capabilities; requiring reliable isolation, containment, and shutdown capabilities for such systems along with legal authorization for emergency intervention; establishing dedicated intergovernmental crisis communication mechanisms; setting up continuity and fallback mechanisms that can operate independently of AI systems; and building interdisciplinary rapid decision-support capabilities, with action manuals written for each of these elements.
Citrix fixed the high-severity NetScaler ADC and Gateway vulnerability CVE-2026-88779 (CVSS 8.7), which has been exploited in targeted 0-day attacks; exploitation requires the device to be configured as a SAML SP or IdP. CISA warned that the critical Fortinet FortiMail vulnerability CVE-2026-104286 (CVSS 9.8) is being actively exploited, and unauthenticated attackers can write arbitrary files by crafting HTTP/HTTPS requests. A new Spectre v2 variant, Branch Target Reuse (BTR), can recover root password hashes from Intel machines running Linux within minutes.
The Norwegian government says it plans to temporarily ban AI glasses in certain locations, citing concerns that people could be photographed, filmed or recorded without their knowledge. The ban could apply to places where the public frequently gathers, such as parks, beaches, museums, shopping centres and public events, and could also cover privacy-sensitive locations such as schools, playgrounds, youth clubs, and doctors' offices, swimming pools and gyms with changing rooms. The government says it has no intention of a blanket ban; private use and use that does not result in others being photographed without consent would remain permitted. The government will also examine which technologies the ban covers, including glasses with cameras and recording, glasses with cameras and AI features, and other wearable devices with cameras, recording or AI. The minority government says it will submit a bill to parliament as soon as possible and set up an expert panel to advise on long-term national regulation of body-worn technology.
Dark Reading's latest reader survey shows that 50% of surveyed security teams listed "AI-driven attacks vs. AI defenses in the SOC" as the top topic of interest at Black Hat USA 2026, and 22% chose "Scaling SecOps with automation, validation, and trusted AI." Experts note that LLMs, especially frontier models, are significantly shortening the window from public disclosure of a vulnerability to its exploitation; attackers can analyze patches and develop exploits within hours, and AI-automated attacks can also continuously probe the attack surface. An Omdia report shows that 32% of organizations believe AI-automated attacks have the greatest impact on offensive security strategies such as penetration testing and red teaming.
Practitioner Li stated in an X post that Malaysia's YTL Group's AI coding platform ILMUcode uses Zhipu GLM, with computing power provided by NVIDIA, and data and inference remain local in Malaysia. Google DeepMind introduced SynthID Bio, a watermarking method designed specifically for synthetic biology, embedding detectable signals by adjusting amino acid sequences and the atomic coordinates of predicted 3D structures. In wet-lab tests on three target proteins—VEGF-A, the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein RBD, and PD-L1—the watermarked designs matched the unwatermarked versions in hit rate, binding affinity, and natural sequence diversity. Toby Ord's analysis suggests that AI swarms are a new form of inference scaling: a 4-agent swarm achieves equivalent performance with roughly twice the total token count, but half the tokens per agent, theoretically allowing task time to be cut in half. Swarm scaling exhibits diminishing returns similar to an economic "stepping on toes" parameter, with 10x agents yielding only 3 to 5x performance gains. A CSAIP poll (sample size 2498) shows 61% of Americans consider AI companies' voluntary self-regulation commitments "not enough," and 54% of voters believe the government should create and enforce AI rules.

Irregular proposes running a containment challenge before capability evaluation begins, having the model under evaluation attempt to break out of the isolation boundary under the planned harness, tools, permissions, resource limits, and infrastructure configuration. In one network isolation challenge, the model found a cloud network path in a cloud-hosted environment with general internet access prohibited that had not been discovered by previous models or security researchers, and used it to access a controlled external endpoint; the path originated from the underlying cloud network rather than a flaw in Irregular's evaluation platform, no harmful activity occurred, Irregular has closed the path and extended the fix to all challenge types, and re-reviewed previous evaluation runs without finding successful exploitation of the path. Irregular states that the containment challenge only covers the tested configurations and conditions, cannot prove that the environment is safe for all prompts, models, tool sets, or run budgets, requires retesting when conditions change, and recommends that evaluators make it a standard part of evaluation preparation.
